Our teaching team consist of professional (JNC) qualified academic staff with extensive experience of youth and community work. We are actively involved in research in youth related issues, such as school inclusion, youth crime, global education and a number of us are external examiners for other UK academic and professional programmes.
Our MA Youth and Community work programme is professionally (JNC) validated offering successful graduates a national youth work qualification. In addition, our MA Youth and Community Studies programme offers an academic framework, which encourages students to work with young people and communities in a variety of settings irrespective of their practical experience. These programmes develop transferable skills for a wide range of career paths.
A majority of our recent graduates have gone onto professional employment in youth and community work, including positions in local community organisations and schools, social services, youth services, national charities and work in international contexts.
