About Law

Jump to course list

Law postgraduate programmes have a strong focus on international and comparative law. Our law programmes offer students the opportunity to explore some of the critical issues of our time from a legal perspective; globalization; human rights, international conflict resolution, international criminal legal law, terrorism, regulating the international financial system and building an equitable international economy.

Our programmes are taught by recognized experts and are supported by a strong research culture. This was endorsed by the last Research Assessment Exercise in 2008, which graded 80% of the research carried out in the field of law as being worthy of international recognition and above – including 5% ranked as world class and 30% as being of international excellence. We have a lively postgraduate research community, partaking in ground-breaking work, including around 50 PhD students, many of whom have won scholarships.
