About the programme
This programme helps managers, workers and consultants to be more effective in their work and organisations. The programme aims to develop managerial skills from a consultative stance, and development of your personal authority and leadership. It provides insights into conscious and unconscious processes that affect working life, an understanding of what leads to functional or dysfunctional individuals and teams, and insights into your own performance and the systems/psychodynamics of groups and organisations.
Programme structure
The MA comprises the following modules:
- Development of Consultancy Skills 1 and 2
- Experiential Learning and its Applications 1 and 2
- Theory 1 and 2
- Dissertation.

This programme is suitable for those working in managerial, consultative, clinical or professional capacities, and is open to those working in any organisation in the public, private or independent sectors.
Support
- Each student will be allocated a tutor for the two years of the programme. The tutor's role will be to oversee the development of the student in relation to the programme, to provide support and guidance in relation to the programme.
- Many of the seminars are divided into small groups, each with a tutor, in order to provide a high level of individual attention.
- Additionally, the study groups may also provide a supportive environment through the understanding gained there.
Admission
- Academic: Applicants are expected to have had a minimum of three years experience in their respective professions. In addition they will usually be directly involved in the management, training or development of other professional workers or engaged in consultative work for specific organisations. As such they will usually hold first degrees or equivalents, and/or have professional experience commensurate with that level of training.
- Personal Suitability: Commitment to personal as well as intellectual development is an important factor. As the course's teaching methods rely considerably on learning from experience at many different emotional, social and intellectual levels, a capacity to work in this way is essential.
