The Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship Day

Find out how other students have managed and experienced running their own companies.

Tuesday 12 April 2011, 9.45am, West Building, Docklands Campus

Our Students

The Entrepreneurship Day is a student day that brings together the themes of entrepreneurship and overseas opportunities, through live examples of students similar to you engaged in running their own live student companies, managing them as part of their business studies programmes as well as current practicing entrepreneurs.

We have invited a team of students from The Netherlands, who will discuss the issues of creating a company and having to sell a product to generate revenue in order to survive. Not only will they show you what they did, they will also be judged to see which company is the best.

Two recently graduated and current entrepreneurs will also be talking about what it is like to set up and make a living of running their own companies in the real competitive environment.

Overseas experience

You can also get the opportunity to experience these activities and more in an international environment by doing some studies overseas.

If you are inspired by your entrepreneurial spirit and/or want to broaden your horizon and you would like to take part in a whole semester or a whole year of overseas study, please join us at this event and see what practicing entrepreneurs and some of our European partners do in the line of entrepreneurship and their studies.  Experience of studying/working in an international setting is an increasingly desired attribute and welcomed by employers alike.

Please let us know if you are coming by registering your interest here

I am guided by Seneca’s words: “It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult”. (Prof. Sonny Nwankwo - Director Petchey Centre)
