The Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship

Funded by the generosity of the Jack Petchey Foundation and based at UEL’s Business School and Knowledge Dock – the Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship (PCE) is a unique initiative offering entrepreneurs exceptional facilities, advice and training and access to industry networks.

The Centre's mission is to support entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial behaviour amongst the University of East London's students, local businesses and the local community. The Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship delivers European, national and regional government initiatives. The Centre also conducts research on local, national and international aspects of small and medium enterprises, and related policy issues.

The Centre provides a stimulating, professional and purpose-built space designed to meet the needs of our local entrepreneurs, including students, graduates and local start-ups in the early stages of business creation. The Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship offers:

Access to knowledge and expertise within the University of East London

Onsite Business Advisors

Workshops and training courses

Excellent networking opportunities

Conference and meeting room facilities - with or without catering

Guidance on grants and funding

Access to mentoring

Membership of Knowledge Dock's Business Alumni

Administrative support including reception services

Management and Staffing

The Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship is managed by a committee drawn from UEL and from representatives of local business interests. The Centre draws its staffing and support from the award-winning Knowledge Dock and from successful Royal Docks Business School. The Centre has a development manager who acts as the operational link between all stakeholders and is the key contact for all interested businesses and schools.
