The New London Graduate School brings together Arts and Humanities research strengths at the universities of East London, Greenwich, London South Bank and Middlesex. We are offering a series of 28 AHRC awards to support students in Masters and Doctoral Programmes in the Arts and Humanities across the period 2011-14.
By combining our expertise, the NLGS offers an exciting and supportive intellectual environment for postgraduate students and will enable students to access a vibrant events and research training network.
We are pleased to announce 11 Arts and Humanities Research Council awards for MA programmes available from September 2012 (either September 2012 or January 2013 start).

Home (UK) students, and EU students who have been resident in the UK for a minimum of three years, are eligible for a full award comprising a fee-waiver + maintenance. Other EU students, and International students who have been resident in the UK for a minimum of three years and have settled status, are eligible for a fee-waiver-only award. To see if you would be eligible for a full or fee-waiver only award, please refer to the AHRC's residency eligibility criteria in Annex A of the AHRC Studentship Funding Guide.
Both the full award and the fee-waver-only award are available for students on part time and full time programmes.

You must apply for a place on your chosen programme and have received an application number (you do not need to have received an offer) before applying for a studentship. Studentships will only be awarded to candidates once they have secured a place on the programme specified on their application.
You may apply for a studentship for up to two programmes, but must submit a separate application for each, and each programme must come from a different NLGS partner.
Please submit your application electronically to NLGS@uel.ac.uk with your name and programme title in the subject field, and with attachments clearly labelled. An application is complete if we have received all of the starred* documents listed below. Incomplete applications will not be considered:

Copy of undergraduate degree certificate (if you have not yet completed your degree, an offer will be conditional upon receiving a copy of your certificate)*
Copy of undergraduate degree transcript (if you have not yet completed your degree, include a provisional transcript)*
Academic Reference [Your Referee will need to submit their reference electronically directly to NLGS@uel.ac.uk by the closing date. It is the Applicant’s responsibility to arrange submittal of the reference]*
Sample work (Candidates are invited to submit a brief portfolio of their work in support of their application. Review Panels will be considering the portfolio when reviewing applications. Only electronic files accepted.)
