Events Officer, Nicola Quilter, took a leap of faith earlier this month, raising vital funds for the Stroke Association in the process.
The plucky mother of two, who has looked after UEL’s university-wide corporate events programme for the last 14 years, was, for once, the centre of attention herself, when she took her life in her hands, abseiling from the 100 foot high boiler house roof of London’s iconic Battersea Powerstation, along with a team of fellow fundraisers.
Nicola said: “The first step is the scariest because you’re leaning backwards from the top of this very tall building, but once you have your foot hold on the side of the building it’s actually great fun, and certainly something I wouldn’t mind trying again.”
Nicola’s abseil raised a creditable £500 for the Stroke Association.
