Be a sport at Sportivate

Monday 3 September 2012

Sportivate

UEL  is encouraging people in East London to capitalise on the feel good factor of the London 2012 Games by signing up for a new and exciting sports programme at SportsDock – training base to Team USA during the Olympics.

Starting on Monday 24 September and funded through Sport England, Sportivate will offer a number of free sports courses for 14-25 year olds. As part of the eight week programme, people will be able to try out a variety of sports for free including badminton, football, judo, cardio tennis, gymnastics and volleyball.

David Cosford, Director of Sport at UEL, said: “This is yet another fantastic example of Olympic legacy in action at UEL. We’ve just experienced the greatest games ever, so there is quite rightly a tremendous buzz about sport in East London at the moment.  In order to keep that momentum going, I would really encourage young people and young adults to visit SportsDock and try out one of the many different sports we have on offer.”

To book a place on a Sportivate course, please contact 020 8223 6888 or visit SportsDock reception at University Way, London E16 2RD.  Please be advised that spaces on each course are limited.

Having successfully hosted Team USA, SportsDock is now fully open to customers once again.
