(USA Basketball training at SportsDock)
The University of East London’s new £21million SportsDock facility has proved an exceptional Olympic training venue for USA Basketball, with both the men and women’s team winning their Gold Medal games.
On Saturday, the women’s team captured an historic fifth straight Olympic Gold Medal following its 86-50 win over France, while the men’s team triumphed in Sunday’s Gold Medal game, with a hard-fought 107-100 victory against Spain.
Rick Adams, Managing Director of National Governing Board Organizational Development at the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) said: “It was clear to us from the beginning that the leadership at UEL really had a commitment to doing everything they could for this to be successful. SportsDock is an unbelievably good facility for high performance and the overall set up here has been really important in terms of our success at the Olympics.”
The University of East London would like to congratulate USA Basketball on its Olympic success and the rest of Team USA for finishing top in the medal count.
