UEL encourages Asian women to attend Redbridge education and training fair

Wednesday 30 May 2012

Asian women

An education and training Fair for Asian women will take place in Redbridge on Thursday, 7 June.

The event, which has been organised by the University of East London in partnership with Redbridge Council, is open to all Asian women from 16 years upwards, and will offer information on education, training and employment opportunities in the east London area. Women will also receive practical advice about the public services in the local community, which are available to them.

At the event, women will get the chance to speak directly to a variety of key organisations, including Redbridge Council, Age Concern Redbridge, Redbridge College, Sikh Care Community project and Victim Support. UEL will have a stall at the event and be on hand to offer advice about the diverse range of courses that women can sign up to.

Jasbir Panesar, Community Development Co-ordinator at UEL, said: “This event never fails to attract a large crowd and I imagine this year will be no different. I would really urge Asian women – young and old – to come along and find out about the wide range of opportunities that are so readily available to them.”

The education and training Fair takes place on Thursday, 7 June between 10.00am and 2.30pm in Ilford Town Hall, High Road, Ilford. A complimentary buffet will be served at the event.
