UEL appoints new Pro Vice-Chancellor

Selena Bolingbroke

Following a rigorous external recruitment process, Selena Bolingbroke has been appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Planning and External Development) at the University of East London.

Selena has been working in this role in an interim capacity for the last year during which time she oversaw, among other things, the introduction of UEL’s new programme and project approach to delivering Transformation for Excellence, the university strategy.

Selena’s involvement in UEL dates back many years, including as Director of External & Strategic Development Services, Head of Strategic Planning and Quality Enhancement and as both a student and student union president at the old Polytechnic of East London (PEL).

Speaking in response to Selena’s appointment, UEL Vice Chancellor, Professor Patrick McGhee, said:” Selena brings with her extensive experience in higher education, local government and Whitehall and a proven track record of driving innovation in East London and the Thames Gateway. I would like to pass on my congratulations to Selena and I wish her every success in her permanent role. “
