Monday 9 May 2011

Bunmi at the Royal Wedding

University of East London graduate, Bunmi Olaye, had the prestigious honour of appearing as a live guest on ITN News’ royal wedding coverage, where she cast her expert eye over the fabulous array of fashions on show.

The fashion graduate, who runs luxury fashion label Bunmi Koko with her partner Francis Udom, appeared as part of a special guest panel on ITN News outside Buckingham Palace. During her television appearance, Bumni and her fellow panellists offered expert commentary on the various fashion collections on display, including those worn by David and Victoria Beckham – arguably two of the World’s leading fashion icons.

Speaking after last Friday’s Royal Wedding, Bunmi said: “It was a privilege to play a part in what was an incredible day. The dress worn by the new princess was absolutely stunning and I think we all agreed that she looked amazing. In terms of the other guests, some of the collections on show were exquisite and really befit the occasion in terms of style and elegance. This is certainly a day that will live with me for many years to come.”

Bunmi’s special guest spot on ITN News follows hot on the heels of her recent success at Arise Magazine Fashion Week in Lagos, Nigeria, where her collections were rapturously received. Following her show at the event, she was chosen from over 50 designers to represent Africa at New York Fashion Week later this year.
