The University of East London goes green next week with a plethora of exciting and educational events, kicking off on Monday morning and coming to a close on Friday evening – so there really is no excuse not to do something green next week.
Activities lined up for the week include workshops, public lectures, film screenings, story-telling, a mass bike ride from Stratford to Docklands along the Greenway and the opportunity to be one of the first people to plant vegetables in the brand new UEL allotment.
Go Green Week (part of an annual nationwide event organised by the People and Planet group), really has something for everyone, whether you fancy attending one of the public lectures, on subjects ranging from London’s biodiversity to environmental justice or watching one of the many films, including the environmental masterpiece the Age of Stupid, starring the late Pete Postlethwaite. Alternatively, why not take a workshop or master-class in paper-making or even learn how to make wallets out of Tetrapaks?
Events start at 10am most days and run until at least 5pm, so, however busy your week, you should still be able to find time to take part.
