The University of East London has seen a 4% increase in undergraduate student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) published last month.
According to the NSS, 76% of UEL undergraduates are satisfied with the quality of their course, up from 72% in 2009. The survey is published by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (Hefce) to help maintain standards and students are asked about every aspect of their university experience.
Students in UEL’s Social Work, Social Sciences, English Studies, Finance and Accounting, Engineering and Technology and Law programmes topped the poll, recording above 85% satisfaction rates.
UEL Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick McGhee says, “This is great news for the University and it represents our commitment to continuous improvement and the importance of student feedback.
The University will continue to invest in outstanding teaching, inspiring learning environments, access to learning resources and technology, opportunities for independent learning and professional recognition as part of the ten year strategy recently introduced.”
Fine Arts student Emily Longstaff is about to return for her second year of study and says she has thoroughly enjoyed her time at UEL.
“I’m very happy with my degree, my course is going well and I think the campus is beautiful. I’m looking forward to starting second year and specialising in painting and printmaking.”
