UEL anthropology graduate Fee Heberle played to sell out crowds at Glastonbury Festival

UEL anthropology graduate Fee Heberle played to sell out crowds at Glastonbury Festival this weekend when she took to the stage with London band Bombay Bicycle Club as one of eight members of the London School of Samba.

Fee and the other samba players from the school provided backing for the band’s encore ‘Always Like This’ played to an uproarious crowd.

Fee first became interested in playing Samba after studying the Anthropology of Carnival as one of her modules.

She said of the experience: “I have played to large crowds before with the London School of Samba at the Corburg International Samba Festival in Germany but nothing compares to playing the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury. We’re putting samba on the Glastonbury map!”

She added: “Bombay Bicycle Club have since said they are interested in possible future collaborations, as well as coming along to our workshops and learning to play samba themselves”.
