The University of East London has launched a revolutionary new ‘build-your-own’ prospectus to offer prospective students an easier, faster and greener way to find important course information.
Through KnowledgePoint’s XMedia solution, prospective students are now able to personally select course information which is accessible almost immediately online through their own secure personal URL. A full-colour version is then mailed out to the individual and is usually received with 48 hours. This new browser-based technology gives prospective students a fully customised prospectus which UEL sees as a much more efficient and user-friendly alternative to the traditional ‘one-size-fits-all’ 240-page printed prospectus.
As well as speeding up the registration process, the system allows course information to be easily updated and collects a wealth of information about the interests and needs of prospective students. The system reduces both costs and the impact on the environment as the print run is significantly reduced.
According to Head of UEL Print Services, Mr Steve Marlow: “We are the only UK University that has gone to such lengths to give true autonomy to the student; almost all the Prospectus content is driven by the student, offering a mix of Programmes information and university information collated according to the preferences of the student.”
KnowledgePoint Co-Founder Paul Gibbons says: “It’s been a very rewarding experience to deliver significant change and cost efficiencies for UEL and give greater strategic depth for their marketing capability. Making a positive difference to our customers is the XMedia solution’s key strength.”
