University of East London student Eno Itauma has been approached to exhibit her work at the acclaimed Grand Designs Live show, which takes place at ExCel London from 1 to 9 May. Eno has just completed a Bachelors Honours Degree in Printed textiles.
The show, which has been voted the Consumer Show of the Year, is regarded by many as the UK’s number one event for interior design products and innovations.
Eno will be showing her Botanical Geo’s’ Home Furnishings collection in the Design Arcade, a new section of the event showcasing the work of up-and-coming new designers. The collection, which ranges from sophisticated wallpapers to hand-embroidered curtains, is inspired by both nature and mathematical concepts.
Eno originally came to the attention of the show organisers after featuring in ICON magazine following an exhibition in Islington.
Eno said: "Anything and everything inspires me, the Botanical Geo’s’ collection was inspired by the ignored elements in nature, such as leaves, instead of flowers, which normally take centre stage. Within two weeks of agreeing to appear in ICON magazine I was contacted by Grand Designs. I have not even graduated yet and to be featured in ICON magazine and then invited to exhibit at a show like Grand Designs is a real blessing".
