
Almost 3,000 students graduated from the University of East London in 2009.
They will go on to work all over the world in a range of exciting careers in fields from industry to sport, and NGO management to the arts.

Chantelle HugginsGreenwich, London won the Sweet and Maxwell prizefor best law graduate for her Bachelor of Legislative Law, LLB Honours Law Degree course and is currently working as a paralegal secretary.
"I'm very proud that my hard work paid off, the award has defintely motivated me to aim for even bigger achievements."
Russ Middleton, West Sussex was awarded a Dr Gerard Browneprize for his Master of Sciences, MScTerrorism Studies Degree. Russ is a Metropolitan Police Officer.
"As a mature student the course was a challenge but worth it in the end. It just goes to prove that if you apply your mind to study you can achieve anything."
Laura WardleWandsworth, London won a John Radfordprize for herBachelor of Sciences, BSc Honours Psychology Degree and is now working as a therapist.
"I’m so proud of all the work I put into my degree and the recognition I gained for it. Today’s ceremony is wonderful because I can meet up with all my course lecturers who are so passionate about their subject."
Idan Naor Essex, London won a Aileen Gibson-Steel Memorial prize for her Bachelor of Sciences, BSc HonoursPsychology Degree and is now studying and teaching at the University of East London.
"It’s an honour to receive this award alongside my degree. My ambition is to help and motivate others to study and this award fuels that ambition."
Paula Booth Essex, Londonwas awarded the British Psychological Society Degree Prize for her Bachelor of Sciences, BSc HonoursPsychology Degree and is now working as a researcher.
"I’m ecstatic to have done so well in my degree and I couldn’t have done it without supportive and friendly course tutors at the University of East London."

Carnita CenacTowetr Hamlets, London won the Kerry Dodd Prize for her Bachelor of Arts, BA HonoursLanguage Education Degree.

Paul HarperLewisham, London earned the Clem Medford Prize for his Bachelor of Arts, BA HonoursYouth and Community Work Degree.
"Doing the degree course has really broadened my horizons, especially when I had never aspired to go to University before."

Juliana NwosuRomford, Havering, East London won the Sigma UK Prize for best graduating degree course student in her Master of Sciences, MSc in Project Management Degree Course. Juliana works as an NHS Practice Manager.
"I am delighted and proud to graduate from my degree with a distinction. The course has been a wonderful experience."
Jandeesh JohalIlford, London was awarded a Christine Payneprize for his Management Research Project. Jandeesh is a HR Administrator for the Commonwealth Secretariat.
"I feel proud to have obtained my postgraduate diploma. The course was definitely a challenge and I enjoyed making new friends from such varied backgrounds."
Nicole RedmanHornchurch, Essex, East London won the Molex Prize for bestMaster Bachelor of Arts MBA Degree Student with her Master Bachelor of Arts MBA in General Managementfrom the University of East London's Royal Docks Business School. Nicole works as head of the Student Money, Advice and Rights Team SMART Team at the University of East London.
"My MBA Degree exceeded my wildest dreams. The course was very practical - not just sitting in the classroom!"

Peter InghamLewisham, London won a prize for his Bachelor of Arts, BAComputer Games Design Degree.

Amanda ReidWaltham Forest, London earned a prize for her Bachelor of Arts, BASocial Work Degree.

Mark ThomasEssex won a prize for his Sport and Exercise Bachelor of Science, BScDegree. He works as a Performance Analyst for West Ham United's Ladies first team.
"Getting a First Class Honours degree at the University of East London has been one of the highlights of my life. This degree has enabled me to build a future in a field I feel passionate about, Sport."
Sophie NapperEssex graduated with a Podiatric Medicine Bachelor of Science, BScDegree. She won the prize for Best Clinical Performance and works as a podiatrist.
"I’m delightted to get a First Class degree. I am working in the NHS and the private sector. The University of East London’s teaching was an excellent and I enjoyed the clinical placements based all over London."
Seema UddinCroydon, London graduated from a Fashion Design with Marketing Bachelor of Arts, BSc HonoursDegree. She won the Subject Director's Prize for Fashion Textiles.
"The Marketing side of my degree was brilliant and set me up for the internship at Harvey Nichols in London."
