A second year BA Honours Accounting & Finance student at the University of East London (UEL) has been selected as one of six students throughout the UK to join the Student Advisory Board of leading publishing company, Pearson.
Student Web Chinduta from Newham seized the opportunity when he found out the offer was open to students nationally. There was huge competition and applicants had to provide an outstanding CV and academic reference.
Pearson Education is part of the global media and education group Pearson, and a sister company of Penguin and the Financial Times newspaper.
The post will enable Web to work with an exceptional, select team of fellow university students and business leaders to help shape the future of educational publishing. Web will also be attending weekend workshops at the firm’s head office in London, receiving £500 and working on projects with the support of a dedicated mentor from Pearson Education.
Pearson Education executives will also meet Web when he presents his ideas to them with a view to influencing decision makers at the highest level.
Web said: "Working with Pearson will be really exciting and I’m looking forward to learning more with my allocated mentor there, it will be a great experience.”
