Get on course for New Year at UEL Open Day

Monday 22 December 2008

Make 2009 the year to fulfil your potential and further your job aspirations by coming along to the University of East London (UEL) open evening on Wednesday January 7 for February and September start courses.

UEL’s Docklands and Stratford campuses will be open to prospective students and local residents to help them decide on a course that’s best for them.

With hundreds of degree programmes and combinations on offer and advice and guidance on all aspects of university life, visitors will be able to explore a wide choice of exciting study possibilities.

UEL is now among the top 10 ‘modern’ (post-1992) universities in the UK for research and the second highest rated in London. We are highly regarded for our innovative research and have won international acclaim in recent years.

Recently, our reputation for internationally-rated research across a wide range of disciplines was recognised with the publication of the results of the government’s 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) on December 18.

There are plenty of postgraduate opportunities to support individual studies and research. These include research resources such as well-equipped studios, lecture theatres, workshops, laboratories and high-tech libraries providing a diverse range of multimedia services and facilities.

Adrienne Clarke, Acting Director of Corporate Marketing and International Office, said: “New Year starts are a popular alternative to the traditional September entry and more prospective students are signing up for them.

“There are a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes starting in February 2009 that will appeal to people from all walks of life.”

UEL’s Docklands campus has exciting facilities include learning centres open 24 hours a day, the waterfront Student Village, and the new Business School and Knowledge Dock Centre at Docklands.

The campus is home to the Schools of Architecture and the Visual Arts, Business, Computing, Information Technology and Engineering, and Social Sciences, Media and Cultural Studies. The Docklands Open Evening will take place in the East building.

The Schools of Education, Health and Bioscience, Law and Psychology are based at the Stratford Campus. The Stratford Open Evening will take place in University House.

Both open evenings will take place at the Docklands and Stratford campuses from 4-7pm on Wednesday January 7.
