Honey shares secrets of sweet success at UEL alumni event – Thursday 12 June

Friday 6 June 2008

University of East London (UEL) graduate and Bollywood diva Honey Kalaria will share the inspiring story of her rise to success at a UEL alumni event, to be held at the Docklands campus on Thursday 12 June.

All UEL students and graduates are invited to attend the Asian-themed event, which will feature Bollywood music and dancing, informal presentations and networking, and traditional Indian food.

Honey Kalaria is Director of Honey’s Dance Academy, Europe’s leading Bollywood training school, with fifteen branches across the UK. She is regularly called upon by film and TV producers seeking to harness her skills as a dancer, actress, presenter and instructor.

Emma Cale, UEL Development and Alumni Officer, said: “This event promises to be a really fun and inspiring occasion, with Honey offering a great story and show and plenty of insightful tips into how to succeed in life after university.

"It’s a wonderful opportunity for all of our graduates to find out more about the benefits they can still receive from the University of East London, as well as to network with fellow alumni, make new friends and socialise with old class colleagues.”

The UEL Alumni Network now includes more than 20,000 members worldwide. The Network is a service for all students and staff, both past and present, and provides opportunities for communication, friendship and involvement.

UEL graduates go on to succeed in a wide range of fields. High-profile alumni include film director Ken Russell, former government minister Hilary Armstrong MP, Mark Frith, former editor of Heat magazine, human rights lawyer Imran Khan, CNN Anchor Daljit Dhaliwal, and Turner Prize-winning artist Jake Chapman.

The Bollywood alumni event will be held at the new Aqua-East Bar at UEL’s Docklands campus on Thursday 12 June from 6-9pm. Food and drink will be provided and the event is free, but places must be registered. Contact Emma Cale on alumni@uel.ac.uk or 020 8223 2222 to book.
