From 31 March to 7 April, Redbridge residents are invited to take part in a series of workshops aimed at creating health improvement programmes in their local community.
The Healthy Redbridge Appreciative Enquiry Workshops will be led by the University of East London’s (UEL) Institute for Health & Human Development in partnership with Redbridge Council and Redbridge NHS Primary Care Trust.
The workshops aim to bring together local residentsand strategic stakeholders to help design community projects around the key themes of healthy eating, physical activity, mental health and wellbeing.
Professor Adrian Renton, Director of the Institute for Health & Human Development, said: “There is clear potential to reduce health inequalities in London, but all actions must take place with a deep understanding of local circumstances if effective and sustainable change is to be achieved.
"We're inviting local people to take part in this project in order to collect accurate information and aidthe design of specific Primary Care Trust projects for the Redbridge community. Only then can we start to deliver an integrated and effective health improvement programme for the region.”
The workshops build upon a recent community needs assessment of the most deprived areas in Redbridge, including Loxford, Clementswood, Hainault, Tiptree, parts of Valentines ward and the Orchard Estate. They will take place at venues across Redbridge from 31 March to 7 April.
