A team of academics from Russia recently visited the University of East London (UEL) Business School to develop a new partnership professional programme focusing on international logistics.
UEL has teamed up with the Urals State University of Economics in Yekaterinburg to launch the ‘Bridge Russia’ project - a unique postgraduate Continuing Professional Development programme in international logistics and supply chain management.
‘Bridge Russia’ is supported by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and contributes to Russia's continuing efforts to synchronise its educational programmes with the global market.
The programme will benefit managers in the Urals region, which is home to some of the largest enterprises in Russia. The historic city of Yekaterinburg is located at the boundary between Europe and Asia. It is a strategic transport corridor for both East-West and North-South logistics activity that impacts on several countries in that region.
Project Manager Dr Brendan D’Cruz, Principal Lecturer in Business and Management, said: “This new partnership programme is very exciting – it incorporates global professional standards and skills, includes issues such as environmental impacts and risks, and introduces new technologies and logistics methodologies that are internationally relevant.”
UEL’s Business School serves over 3,500 students from over 100 countries worldwide. It provides state of the art facilities, as well as research and consultancy in business and management. For more information visit www.uel.ac.uk/business
