Get up to scratch at new UEL DJ and radio presenting workshops

Friday 8 December 2006

Aspiring DJs and radio stars are invited to the launch of the new Millionaire’s Club DJ and Radio Presenters Workshops at the University of East London (UEL) Docklands Campus on Friday 15 December.

The new workshops are the brainchild of Jody Turay (26), a Stratford resident and third-year student on UEL’s BSc (Hons) degree in ICT. Two-hour sessions will take place every weekday from 5-7pm, giving Newham youth the opportunity to develop talent and skills in a professional studio within UEL’s new Knowledge Dock Centre.

Working with Knowledge Dock, UEL’s enterprise development and support service, Jody has already set up his own multimedia company, Voicing the Truth Media, and is currently developing UEL’s first fully-operational digital radio station.

Jody said: "Music is a great way to bring people together, and these new DJ and radio workshops will give young people in Newham a sense of empowerment while enabling me to train up student DJs to work on the UEL radio station."

The launch of the VTM Millionaire’s Club DJ and Radio Presenters Workshops will take place at the Knowledge Dock Centre at UEL’s Docklands Campus from 5-7pm on Friday 15 December. For further details, contact Jody Turay on 07903 296 999 or visit www.myspace.com/vtm_entertainment.

UEL’s Knowledge Dock contributes to the economic and social development of East London and Thames Gateway through provision of a range of business development and support services to inventors, businesses, academics, students and entrepreneurs. For further information, visit www.knowledgedock.com
