The UEL Webteam runs regular workshop sessions, with training materials for beginners and support/advice/help for all. Please book on a workshop if you want training or need help in uploading to the site. Remember,
You may have already had some web publishing experience in the past, but if you are new to the University or have never worked with our templates, our web publishing system and our servers or even with Site Manager, then you will definitely need to come to one of the training sessions.
Training sessions are by invitation or by request. Web Publishers and Writers will be invited to training when their new website is complete (or almost ready).
To book a place on a workshop or to ask for Web Team's availability for a group training session organised by School or Service, please email webteam@uel.ac.uk.

Site Manager is only available if your connection is within the UEL's network domain.
To access Site Manager when you are connecting off campus using for example mobile, home broadband or another organisations internet connection, you will need to make a connection to the UEL network remotely by setting up a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection on your computer.
The VPN connection will create an encrypted tunnel between your computer and the university network so that your connection can be treated as being WITHIN or part of the University network.
More information on how to access or install VPN on your computer is available on the IT Services Webpages

Losing Data
There are a number of reasons why this could occur, this could include:
Your websites may appear blank or not display correctly in Internet Explorer. For example, the modify, delete and history tabs might be missing, portions of a webpage might be missing, info in a table might be in the wrong locations, or colors and text might be incorrect. Some webpages might not display at all.
If a portion of the webpage is blank or doesn't display correctly, please turn on Compatibility View and this should solve the problem(s)
Compatibility View helps improve how some websites look by displaying them as if you were using an earlier version of Internet Explorer.
Turn on Compatibility View by opening Internet Explorer and clicking on the Compatibility View button on the Address bar.

For more info about Compatibility View, see How to use Compatibility View in Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9.
Please contact us (webteam@uel.ac.uk) if the web site is still not displaying correctly or you are experiencing a different problem.
