The media office is a small team looking after the public image of the University of East London.
Alongside the marketing team, we represent the public face of the University through promoting 'good news' stories to the national and international media.
We also handle interview bids (and any subsequent media training required) for staff about to go in front of the camera.
We also respond to reactive enquiries from the media about issues affecting higher education generally and UEL specifically.
Our aim is to create media interest in the University and in doing so raise awareness of all there is to celebrate about UEL.
In 2012 alone we put out over 150 stories to the press and achieved nearly five thousand media hits globally, including mentions everywhere from the Newham Recorder to the New York Times, with UEL academics appearing on every major UK news channel.
If you have a story whether it be a fascinating piece of research, a big sporting fixture, an art exhibition with a twist or anything that you think will be of interest to an external audience then get in touch and we will do what we can to help get your story out there.
Please note: the media team will only be able to assist with enquiries relating specifically to the media - this does not include internal communications.
