As well as internationally recognised research, we play a key role in the economic, cultural and social development of our region. We are situated at the heart of the London Thames Gateway, one of the biggest regeneration sites in Europe, and are working with our partners on a range of projects relating to health, housing, education, transport, community infrastructure and social enterprise.
We are leaders in the growing area of university-business partnership, and have attracted public and private support to set up the Knowledge Dock Centre at UEL, providing expertise and consultancy to industry and the public sector. Knowledge Dock now works with over 2,000 businesses and entrepreneurs, and offers a growing range of services and expert centres including the Fabric Print and Design Bueau (FabPad), Product Design Lab, Simlab, Inventors Club, the HotHatch incubation facility, and MAGIC, the Multimedia and Games Innovation Centre.
As part of our new Business School and Knowledge Dock Centre development at Docklands, the Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship is being developed with charitable funding from the Jack Petchey Foundation to encourage and educate future generations of entrepreneurs.
