Welcome to Corporate Marketing

Recent years have seen impressive growth in our student numbers, which currently stand at an all-time high of around 28,000 students worldwide. We aim to continue to build on this success in order to meet our targets for future growth, especially for international students.

The Corporate Marketing works to strengthen UEL's presence and reputation in an increasingly global recruitment market and to achieve our planned growth in numbers of UK, EU and international students.

Our professional team achieves this success through leading and developing our student recruitment in the UK and worldwide, championing the UEL brand through effective marketing and communications, supporting the development of key partnerships locally, and co-ordinating the university's fund-raising activities.

At the heart of our activities is a clear set of strategies for orchestrating our recruitment, promoting our brand and providing best practice in our marketing and communications. This includes pro-active, year-round activity at each stage of the recruitment process, ensuring prospective students receive a first-class experience from enquiry to enrolment; establishing and developing the university's profile, seizing on the opportunities secured by our successes; establishing UEL as a champion for East London and the fast-growing, economically important Thames Gateway region; and creating and maintaining an extensive network of partners and supporters both in the UK and overseas, including our own alumni.

The Service works actively with colleagues in our academic Schools and other Services, and with many external contacts and agencies. We work through seven operational teams:

The teams themselves work closely together to provide an integrated approach to delivering the following institutional responsibilities:

• developing and maintaining UEL's corporate image in order to enhance our profile and reputation with key external audiences
• developing and maintaining an effective marketing and student recruitment operation, including publicity campaigns, handling general course enquiries and processing all student application forms
• supporting the development of collaborative links between UEL and overseas institutions
• managing our press relations and general external communications
• facilitating internal communications and producing the monthly staff bulletin
• producing all of our promotional information in print and online via the internet
• arranging corporate events, including open days and graduation ceremonies
• managing our fundraising initiatives and our alumni network
• providing all of our in-house design, print and reprographic services.
