Brief biography

Jamie Hakim is the Research Assistant at the Centre for research on Refugees, Migration and Belonging (CMRB). Jamie is responsible for all adminstrative duties at the centre, which includes research assistance responsibilities on work package 9 of the EUBORDERSCAPES project. He was awarded his PhD in Cultural Studies in January 2013. His thesis is titled 'Affect and Cultural Change: The rise of Popular Zionism in the British Jewish Community after the "Six Day War"  (1967)'. He has an MA in Cultural Studies from UEL (distinction) and a BA in History from the University of Sussex (1:1). His next research project explores affect and the body in neoliberal popular culture.
