Brief biography

Christine was called to the Bar (non-practising) in 1994 and completed her LLM in  1998. She is currently a PhD candidate. Christine has been a part-time member of staff since Feburary 1998, apart from a two year period when she worked as the General Secretary for the Commonwealth Lawyers’ Association. She returned to the School of Law on a part time basis in 2004 and was appointed a full time Lecturer teaching on the LLB programme in 2008.

Current research and publications

  • Christine’s current research focuses on children and women’s rights in Ghana, in particular the role of law in attempt to abolish the traditional Trokosi system. She is also conducting research into domestic violence in Ghana and the recent enactment of the Domestic Violence Act.
