The MSc Transport, Sustainability and Society (TSS) has been fully validated by the University of East London and will begin in September 2012. It is an Approved Masters counting towards the Transport Planning Professional Qualification.
We run regular Q&A events about the course - email Rachel (R.E.Aldred@uel.ac.uk) for more info.
Students may want to attend the annual Cycling and Society Symposium which UEL is hosting this year, on the 3rd and 4th September, a couple of weeks before term starts. We have also recently obtained ESRC funding to organise a seminar series on transport modelling in partnership with other universities. Students will be encouraged to attend these seminars and our public lecture programme. You can find out more about our research in sustainable mobilities here, and about our Short Course Cycling in Society here.
This page provides more information about the MSc TSS - in particular modules making up the degree. The MSc is flexible and you can study part- or full-time; if part-time you can attend UEL one day per week and complete in two years (or longer, if preferred).

Our Modules - how the programme is made up
To complete a full MSc you would need 180 M-Level course credits. Each module - except for the double dissertation module - is rated as being 30 credits. You will study four 30 credit modules and one 60 credit module (the dissertation). You can choose all your modules from within the programme or to take up to two approved options from other programmes.
Each module is taught by research active staff. Modules also include guest lectures and field trips. In addition we run a public lecture series where you can hear experts (academics and practitioners) speaking about particular case studies and research projects. We also have good local employer links and you may be able to obtain an internship placement over the Summer to host your dissertation project.
