All library staff will be able to point you in the right direction for gaining the information you need – whether for specific library services, or for more general help with your disability.
This information will be passed onto the Customer Services Managers in the libraries and held in complete confidence. Only a simple note of the particular requirements will be placed on the student's record.
Students can have assistance with the specialised equipment and with collecting books from shelves if prior arrangements are made. Arrangements can be made for helpers to borrow books on the student's behalf.
Students can have extended loan periods on one week loan books. Access to texts in alternative formats is available. Please see the contact person in the libraries for details of how to arrange for these.
Each library has specialist equipment to aid study, some of which is located within the Disability and Dyslexia Access Equipment rooms. Please see our Assistive Technology Guide or alternatively, a full list is available online at http://www.uel.ac.uk/disability/assistive.htm
