What happens next?
- Requesting a book: When you place an ILL request, we will contact the British Library on your behalf. The book will be delivered to your LLC for you to borrow. Please note, due to copyright restrictions, some books can only be used in the library and cannot be taken home.
- Requesting a thesis: You can place request for a thesis with the British Library Electronic Theses Online Service.
- Requesting a journal article: When you request a journal article, we will contact the British Library on your behalf. Journal article requests can be arranged to be either sent to your LLC for you to collect, sent to your home or office address or delivered electronically to your university email address or a supplied email address.

How will I know my ILL has arrived?
- An email notification will be sent to your email address that is held by the library. Please make sure the library holds the correct email address of you.
- If you have arranged an article to be sent directly to your home or office, it should arrive within 3 - 5 working days.
- If you have requested an SED, you should receive an email with a download link.

How long can I keep an ILL item?
- Journal articles are yours to keep.
- The electronic link to download the article is only valid for 14 days, it can only be downloaded and printed once.
- Books - a return date will be provided on collection. The book may be renewed if it has not been recalled. Due to copyright restrictions some books can only be used in the library and cannot be taken home.

I am working from home, can you send my requests to my home / office address?
- Journal articles can be either mailed to your home or office address, or electronically delivered to your university email address (or supplied email address).
- Please ensure your home/ office address and email address is updated and on our records.
- Books and theses cannot be delivered directly to your home or office address.
