What can be requested?

Books, journal articles (by post or email). Theses can be requested via the British Library Electronic Theses Online ethos service.

Who can use the inter-library loan service?

Current UEL students and staff can use the service free of charge, please check at your Library as restrictions do apply.

Second year and final year undergraduates

5 requests per academic year

Postgraduates

20 requests per academic year

(Please note: A maximum of 10 ILL requests can be placed at a time)

Staff, MPhil and PhD researchers & Doctoral students

unlimited access

(Please note: A maximum of 10 ILL requests can be placed at a time)

How do I place a request?

How to place an inter library loan request

  • Go to the Library search page
    (or click on Library search in the right had column of the Library and Learning Services Page)
     
  • Click on Sign in (at the top of the screen).
     
  • Enter your UEL username and password.
     
  • Click on Login.
     
  • Click on My Account
     
  • From the ILL drop down menu chose Book or Journal request.
     
  • Fill out as much detail as possible and click on Place ILL request.

A maximum of 10 ILL requests can be placed at a time.
