Journals & Electronic resources

Journals

The Subject librarian in consultation with academic staff, is responsible for the selection of journals.

The following criteria will apply when selecting new journals

  • Quality of the publication
  • Relevance to courses taught
  • Cost, including likely inflation
  • It is important to bear in mind that journals represent an ongoing commitment of funds and care should be taken when recommending them.
  • Journal subscriptions will be reviewed regularly in consultation with academic staff to make sure they meet current needs and are cost effective.
  • Journals are for reference only.

Electronic resources

The LLS collects or provides access to electronic journals and databases on and off campus. We subscribe to databases which provide indexing services and access to the full text of articles.
