Artbibliographies Modern

Provides full abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, exhibition catalogs, PhD dissertations, and exhibition reviews on all forms of modern and contemporary art. Entries date back as far as the late 1960s. The wide-ranging coverage includes performance art and installation works, video art, computer and electronic art, body art, graffiti, artists' books, theatre arts, conservation, crafts, ceramic and glass art, ethnic arts, graphic and museum design, fashion, and calligraphy, as well as traditional media including illustration, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and drawing.

Berg Fashion Library

The Berg Fashion Library is an online resource to provide access to interdisciplinary and integrated text, image, and journal content on world dress and fashion. The resource offers users cross-searchable access to an expanding range of essential resources in including studying fashion, anthropology, art history, history, museum studies, and cultural studies.

Ebsco Academic Source Complete  

A database offering full text for nearly 5,990 scholarly journals. It covers virtually every area of academic study offering full text information dating as far back as 1985.

Jstor

Provides scholarly articles over a variety of arts related areas, many of the full text. Older material is included.

Nexis

Comprehensive international news, business and company data, including full text of all the major UK newspapers and major overseas daily publications. Coverage of approximately 12,000 publications from national & local newspapers, press releases, transcripts of tv broadcasts, newswires, statistical bulletins, magazines and trade journals.

Project Muse                                                                                                                                          

The Humanities Collection is a collection of high quality, peer reviewed journals designed for institutions acquiring extensively in the humanities. This collection provides a highly relevant set of research journals for art schools, museums, performing arts organizations, film schools, and related institutions. Of the new titles added to MUSE each year, the best of those with a clear humanities focus are added to the Humanities Collection.

Creative Club

The largest online archive of UK adverts.

Euromonitor

The Euromonitor database is an integrated online business information system providing key business intelligence on countries, consumers, lifestyles, markets and companies. It offers a range of international market research.

Key note  

Key Note reports analyse every major market sector, including brand strategy, buying behaviour, competitor analysis, market forecasts, SWOT/PEST analysis, etc.

WARC 

WARC provides access to over 13,000 articles and case studies in virtually all areas of advertising, marketing and media activity worldwide.

WGSN is the leading online trend-analysis and research service providing creative and business intelligence for the apparel, style, design and retail industries.

Cambridge Journals Online

Covers a wide range of subjects, including History, Literature, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts.

Oxford Journals Online

For resources on History, Literature, Cultural Studies and Performing Arts.

Sage Online

A useful gateway for Media resources.

Swetswise

Swetswise is a multidisciplinary journals database. UEL currently has full-text access to almost 1400 titles through the Swetswise website.

Taylor & Francis

The Taylor & Francis website provides access to journal articles, and covers subjects such as Arts and Communication Studies.

Wiley Online Library

UEL has access to over 2000 journals through Wiley Online Library. Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are all well-covered within the database.

Printed Resources

Books

If you type in a key word into the library search, you will find be able to find the section of books that generally covers that area. See examples below.  However, this is just a general guide.  Books could be at many different shelf marks so it is always advisable to use the library search to find items.

On the 1st floor, next to the library enquiry desk, you can find the Artists Section. The books are arranged alphatically by the artist's surname.

Journals

As well as electronic journals, available from the databases, there are hard copy journals available on the 2nd floor. They are arranged alphabetically by title.

ADI students have access to the Fashion Resource Room in the ADI building which contains archive copies of  fashion related journals such as Vogue, Pop and Dazed and Confused.  The recent issues are on the 2nd floor of the library.
