Using 'My Collections' in EBL

This information is also available in PDF format in our Using 'My Collections' in EBL leaflet.

The 'My Collections' feature of EBL e-book library allows you to keep a record of books you have been browsing or reading.

UEL Library Search gives you access to over 100,000 books which you can 'loan', but this service does not run all year.

When the e-book loan service is not running, the books you were accessing may no longer be available, but while it is running, a record of these books can be saved and exported if you need the details for reference.

1. Creating a collection

When you are browsing or searching for e-books, you can add create a list of books by adding them to a Collection. This can be done from the results screen.

You can also drag books to a collection from your Bookshelf, which contains the books you have most recently accessed. Click on the book and use the mouse to drag the book cover up the screen to the Collection you have selected.

You can rename the Collection to something of your own choice.

2. Exporting collections for reference

Go to My Collections from the top menu. Click on the Collection you want to display.

The books from the Collection you have selected will display in your Bookshelf at the bottom of the screen.

Select Manage Collection (List View) above the book covers.

You have the option of exporting the Collection by email or as a CSV file.

You can export this list by email, but once the loan service has ended you may no longer be able to access the books from the link sent.

It is advised that you export the Collection as a CSV file, which you will be able to open as an Excel spreadsheet and save for further reference.

Please note that the URL links in the spreadsheet will no longer work once the service has ended.
