The overall service, including guidance on placements, mini pupillages, internships, CVs, applications and employability materials, is student focused. Your opinions and your needs matter!
We have an internal employability website called ‘Futures & Options’ for all the latest news, events and developments. The site is frequently updated with opportunities, information, resources and links. Only registered School of Law students can access the site via UEL Plus, see below.
Help is given with traineeships, vacation schemes and volunteering. Attending talks is important too!

The School of Law takes is commitment to pro bono work seriously. That is free and voluntary legal support for members of the community. By undertaking pro bono work students develop their vocational skills in preparation for primarily a career in the criminal justice sector or as lawyers.

We currently participate in various pro bono schemes in and around London with organisations such as: Citizen Advice Bureaux, the Metropolitan Police, Victim Support, Amnesty, Shelter, Stratford Magistrates Court Volunteer Programme, Wandsworth County Court Personal Support Unit, Youth Mentoring and other projects often promoted by LawWorks – the leading solicitors’ pro bono group (SPBG). See also the following independent pro bono site: ProBonoUK.net for more information.
"As a second year LLB student and aspiring barrister I was extremely eager to find out what I could and should be doing right now in terms of work experience. I therefore attended the LawWorks pro bono student conference 2008 at Nottingham Law School. it was very informative and a great stepping stone”……..find out more. Leanne Bondzie Level 2 Law Student.
We do encourage our students to undertake various placements and pro bono activity from attending talks to working as active volunteers. Indeed some of our more famous alumni and supporters have given talks and public lectures in line with career choice aspirations.
