The University of East London offers a course designed to help you prepare for the Metropolitan Police Interpreters test, or for those in the local community who wish to build on their interpreting skills.
Passing the MET Test means you can apply to become part of the National Register of Public Service Interpreters. For more information regarding the MET Test, please visit the Institute of Linguistics website: http://www.iol.org.uk/index.asp
Many languages currently offered by the Met Interpreter Test are not catered for by other tests. Languages include; Albanian, Turkish, Kurdish (Sorani) and Polish. A full list of Languages covered by our course can be found here.
UEL currently has two intakes a year, February to May and September to November, each containing 20 hours dedicated teaching time at our Stratford Campus. Teaching will include:
The course will cost £200 and run for ten weeks, four hours every fortnight*
