This page gives you an overview of the Services we currently provide. We are in the process of reviewing our Service standards and are including more information about the services we provide. - Account Management and Logins
This service covers the provision and management of the usernames needed to access our network and corporate systems.
- Assistive Technology
IT Services provides comprehensive specialist Assistive Technology consultation and support services to support the University in providing suitable technologies for students and staff with a range of disabilities including vision, learning and mobility impairments.
- Audio Visual Services
We provide and support advanced audio visual presentation systems across the University to facilitate conferences, presentations and enhance learning and teaching.
- Desktop Support
This service is the provision of second level support related to the desktop computing environment. The desktop environment includes desktop computers, laptops, LAN, printers and software.
- Email and Calendar
IT Services offers an electronic mail (email) service for all students and staff. The email system also offers Calendar and Contact functionality, and can be accessed both on and off campus.
- Fixed Telephony
IT Services provides and supports the University's fixed desk-based telephony service. We arrange for the installation of new phones and relocate and modify existing phone connections where needed.
- Service Desk
The Service Desk is a central contact point for all students and staff for their IT technical and support needs. Contact Us.
- Infrastructure and Network Services
This service provides and maintains connectivity between computers and mobile devices, to share resources and information securely.
- Mobile & Smart Phones
IT Services provides and supports a range of mobile and smart (with PDA capability) phone services to University staff. This includes provision of mobile handsets, mobile phone account management and technical support & assistance.
- Computer Provisioning
Although schools and services are able to order their own equipment direct from the University's preferred suppliers (currently Dell, Viglen and Apple), IT Services also offers a service to facilitate the acquisition, support and distribution of desktops, laptops and desktop printers.
- Software Provisioning
IT Services facilitates and manages the acquisition, support and distribution of software for use on the University's equipment.
- Student Computing Areas
Student Computer Laboratories, also called Open Access P.C’s, provide students and staff with easy on-campus access to shared computers and peripheral IT services.
- Information Services
IT Services is responsible for providing and supporting the following key UEL systems: Student Records, Timetabling, Finance, and Residential Services. Our Information Services team work with the key stakeholders in each of these systems to provide useful Business Intelligence.
- Virtual Learning Environments
IT Services provides and maintains the infrastructure and equipment which supports our Virtual Learning Environments.
