About our IT Resources

As you would expect from a leading modern university, UEL has an impressive range of IT resources. We have over 3,800 computers serving more than 25,000 student and staff users.

Facilities across our campuses range from open access computing areas and fully networked Libraries, to individual office computers and network data points in student residences on our Docklands campus. Find out more about Facilities.

IT Facilities for Students

As a student at UEL you benefit from state-of-the-art computing and multimedia facilities both in our Libraries and in our Conference and Computing Centre as well as within your School. Key resources include:

  • Free wi-fi internet access
  • Over 1,800 networked computers providing free e-mail and internet access
  • There is also Audio Visual equipment in all teaching rooms that you can use for your presentations
  • Software including MS Office, as well as any specialist learning and teaching packages needed for your course
  • Virtual Learning Environments to enable you to study where and when you want
  • Multimedia Production Centre
  • We provide Anti-Virus protection across all of our computers and for you to Download for home use free of charge
