Transfer Files

UEL’s File Transfer Service is a simple and secure method of transferring and sharing large files. All the sender and receiver need are an internet connection and web browser. There is a 100mb maximum files size limit. If you need to send more than this please contact our IT Service Desk

To share a file with someone else, simply upload your file to the File Transfer Service (FTS) web page. When you have completed the upload you will be given a unique URL (see example below).

Example of unique URL created for File Transfer Service

http://fts.uel.ac.uk/download.aspx?file=01f656a5-e02c-4276-ae8e-e53e7099ae3b

Then all you need to do is email your unique URL as a link to the person you want to share the file with. They can then download the file via their web browser.

Uploaded files will expire (be automatically removed from the FTS server) 72 hours after submission, so it is advisable to let the recipient know they have a limited time to download the file.

Use File Transfer Service (FTS) now.

Terms and conditions of FTS use

  • UEL accepts no responsibility for the content of your file
  • UEL will log the IP address of the uploader and downloader(s)

  • UEL accepts no responsibility for potential virus infection via file
