Institute for Research in Child Development

Training courses

IRCD has recently worked closely with Tower Hamlets Children’s Services to develop important knowledge exchange activity and potential third stream KE funding for the Institute. One aspect of this is that we are delivering training courses to Children’s Services staff

"Developmental Psychology: key issues and controversies."

Drawing of child and motherThis one day course is for all professionals working in children's services in Tower Hamlets, including primary school classroom teachers and teaching assistants. Places and funding on the course are co-ordinated by Tower Hamlets Children's Services. The course takes place in the IRCD at the University of East London, Stratford Campus.

The aim of the course is to provide professionals with a refresher and update on theories and research in developmental psychology. We want to help practitioners to reflect on developmental psychology theory and research, and relate it to their experiences and practice. The course is a mixture of group and lecture sessions and is presented by Professor Derek Moore and Dr Rachel George.

If you are from Tower hamlets and would like to sign up for the courses then please contact Ian Bennet.

If you would like to know more about this course please email: d.g.moore@uel.ac.uk.
