Institute for Research in Child Development

cat womanBabies' understanding of the human body

The institute is interested in the basic processes of social perception that are essential for typical development. One area of particular interest is how infants come to understand the properties of the human bodily form.

We are interested in how babies come to understand the typical form of a human body and head using full body information and how they bind the huan forms to movement by exploring their perception of human point light displays.
