Agencies, companies, universities, theatres and professionals make our programmes real, offering students the chance to work alongside practitioners operating in the creative industries they wish to join. Some of our modules are taught entirely by our partners (such as East London Dance) while others engage a range of different partners during the course of a semester.
Most of our partnerships are centred around local agencies, although not exclusively so. As we continue to 'act local' and 'think global', our partnerships increase in range and diversity bringing in new, international and interdiscliplinary dimensions to our work.
IPAD has the following partners:
MayFest is our annual arts festival on the Docklands Campus and gives expression to IPAD's mission to relate performance and the performative both to and within the local community. The festival presents a range of performance and visual arts in a day of celebration. The event includes specially commissioned work that engages with the local and the global - for example, MayFest06 saw East London Dance produce an inter-generational dance piece for the campus.
Stratford Circus is IPAD's current base for the delivery of its practical performance modules. A working arts centre at the heart of the Olympic development area in the London Borough of Stratford's new Cultural Quarter, it has three floors of outstanding facilities comprising a 314-seat auditorium, a 100-seat auditorium and a large, flexible rehearsal studio space. All spaces have sprung dance floors, and are fully adaptable for performance. UEL is one of many partners sharing the Stratford Circus spaces in a unique partnership-based model of venue management.
