University of East London is delighted to participate in the Brazilian government's Science Without Borders programme, enabling Brazilian students to take part of their undergraduate degree or postgraduate research programme with us.
The scheme is administered in Brazil by CAPES and CNPq, and is managed in England by Universities UK.
With 35 students already participating in Science Without Borders at UEL, we are the most popular university in London for the scheme.

We also have places on PhD programmes under the Science Without Borders scheme. Students can take one year of their PhD with us then transfer back to their university in Brazil, or they can complete the whole PhD here at UEL. For more information, please email swb@uel.ac.uk. If you need to improve your English before joining the Science without Borders programme at UEL, you could be eligible to take our presessional English classes. Courses vary in length depending on what you need. The cost of the English course, including accommodation, is covered by your scholarship.

As a Science Without Borders student, you will normally be housed in our moderrn and beautiful Docklands Campus. All rooms are single occupancy and are just a short walk from Cyprus DLR station, making it safe and easy for you to travel to Central London. Your room will have the following facilities

We work hard to make sure that every Science Without Borders student has a great experience at UEL. When you arrive in London, we organise a comprehensive Welcome Programme made up of a range of social acticities and practical information sessions. The programme is fun and informative. We also arrange fun trips throughout the year just for Science Without Borders students, including things like a trip to Thorpe Park, a cruise along the River Thames and a night out at the Theatre. All of the trips are free of charge and are designed to help you make the most of your time as a UEL student.
