The International Welcome Programme will take place at the Docklands Campus.

There will be a free airport collection service from Heathrow and Gatwick Airport running all day. Students requiring the UEL airport pick-up service will need to register in advance. If requesting airport collection it is essential that you read the Airport Pick-up information page.
UEL staff and student ambassadors will be at both airports to meet you from your flight and take you back to our Docklands campus. Look out for us in our green t-shirts!

If you are an international student beginning a new course at UEL in September 2013, and are not making use of the Airport Pick Up Service, you will begin your studies with Orientation Day.
What does it include?
The orientation event will be signposted around the University. You will have the opportunity to meet key staff members and make friends with fellow students.
Your orientation will begin with a formal welcome from the Vice-Chancellor’s Group and the Director of UEL International, and an introduction to the history of your university.
We will then take you on an informative journey of what UEL has to offer and give you tips on how to make the most of your time in the UK. This includes opening a bank account, accessing health care, travelling around London, staying safe in London and how to save those pennies!

Quiz Time!
We will be testing your knowledge with the International Welcome team quiz! There are prizes to be won so in order to be the first International Welcome quiz champion! make sure you listen carefully as all the answers will be given throughout the day.
What about lunch?
We will take a break for a free Welcome lunch and this will give you an opportunity to talk to staff about any questions you may have and make lots of new friends. Vegetarian and halal options will be available.
After lunch, our UEL Sports staff will run a a fun UEL drop-in sports programme, which includes Cricket, Football, Belly Dancing and Zumba!

International Student Speed Friending!

Why not complete your first day at UEL by attending our International Student Speed Friending event!This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know fellow students from all over the world and make new friends.

The International Student Enrolment session has been specifically organised for you so that you can enrol on your course and receive your UEL ID card, which means that you can start your School induction from Monday 16th September. Your enrolment slot will be allocated nearer the time and you will be sent an email confirming the time.

Once you have attended the International Welcome Programme and completed your enrolment you will need to check your First week Calendar to ensure you attend your School Induction. School Inductions start from week beginning Monday 16th September It is vital that you attend all other School Induction sessions.


FREE Half-day Guided Tour of London and option of afternoon in historic Greenwich
Leaving Docklands Campus at 9am we will head into London with expert Blue Badge Tour Guides. This is a great opportunity to see London with well informed commentary about the life and history of our great capital city. You will also have a chance to stop and explore certain venues on foot with your guide, before heading to historic Greenwich.
