Enrolment
During the first week at UEL a number of activities are organised by UEL International as part of our Welcome Programme
Enrolment at UEL is the process whereby you complete the registration process and officially become a UEL student. Information on the requirements for enrolment, including the times and dates scheduled for you to enrol (based on your course of study/ school) can be found on the Starting at UEL section of this website.
Before you arrive
Although you will not be fully enrolled until you have attended on-campus Enrolment, once you have an unconditional offer, you can speed up the process by completing your online enrolment task.
Information on the Welcome programme can be found on our website for February, for May and for September
Once you are at UEL
Your enrolment day is dedicated to getting you fully enrolled and issued with your UEL student card. Please note, you will not be fully enrolled until you have your UEL student card so all international students need to attend this day.
- If you need to set up a payment plan, you will need to see a Credit Officer. Please note that after paying your 50% deposit you will be expected to pay the first instalment of the remainder of your tuition fees before you can complete your visa check and your full enrolment at UEL.
- If you have paid full fees and do not require a payment plan proceed to complete your visa check and obtain your UEL student card.
- Ensure you update your Term Time address in the UK.
It’s also important that you bring with you certain documents on the day to help you complete your visa check and full enrolment at UEL. Please make sure you have the following:
- Original copies of your qualifications
- Any correspondence you have received from UEL
- Your passport, valid visa and any other relevant documents from the UK Border Agency
More information on the enrolment process and your time for enrolment can be found on our website on the Starting at UEL section.
School Inductions
- School Inductions take place on Wednesday 30th January 2013 or Thursday 31st January
- It’s important that you attend your school induction as well as the International Welcome Programme as this is when you will get your timetable, register for modules and meet classmates and lecturers.
- To find out when and where your school induction is, please see www.uel.ac.uk/firstweek
- If you are still unsure you could find out your timetable from the School helpdesk.
- If your school induction clashes with your international enrolment you should attend your school induction as this is more important and you will still be able to enrol during the school’s enrolments slots (please note this could only occur for a limited number of February starters).
Module Registration
- It is essential that you register for your modules otherwise your name will not appear on the attendance register.
- To confirm your modules for this semester you may be able to register via UEL Direct online - Please check with School if this is available for your programme
- In some cases you will be given a manual form to fill from your school helpdesk if you cannot register your modules online.
- After completing the form, please hand them over to the School Administrator
- If in doubt or require any academic assistance, contact the School Administrator of your programme or School Registrar
