You have the chance to join us on an exciting schedule of day trips and activities. All trips are £10 each, unless stated otherwise and include transport and Blue Badge Tour Guide.
Note: All coaches leave from Docklands Campus, East Building near the security desk (car park side). Tickets must be purchased in advance (see how to book)
Be there no later than 8.45am for a 9.00am sharp departure. Coaches will depart from the venue at around 16.30. Arrival time on campus will vary according to destination and traffic. If you would like more information email us

1. Cotswolds and Warwick Castle - Saturday 23rd February

Tour description:
We start the day at Warwick Castle. Walk the castle walls, experience medieval warfare and see the grandeur of Countess Daisy’s Royal Weekend Party. Jump back on the coach to an area popular with both the English themselves and international visitors from all over the world, the area is well known for gentle hillsides (‘wolds’), outstanding countryside with river valleys, water meadows and beech woods, sleepy ancient limestone villages, historic market towns and for being so ‘typically English’ where time has stood still for over 300 years.

2. Salisbury- Saturday 23rd March

Tour description: Today's tour takes you to the market town of Salisbury, most famous for its Early English gothic cathedral. A real architectural gem, Salisbury boasts England's tallest spire and offers a chance to see an original copy of Magna Carta, the 13th century document seen by many as a foundation to modern democracy. After our visit to the Cathedral meander through the market streets and see why Salisbury has inspired some of Britain's most famous painters.

3. Brighton - Saturday 20th April

Tour description:
Visit Britain's first seaside resort - Brighton! A playground for England's elite in the 18th century and party goers of today. You will visit the Prince Regent's opulent Royal Pavilion with its minarets and Chinese dragons. After our visit to the Palace, enjoy the funfair Festival Pier, explore the Promenade and Brighton's narrow twisting lanes, or treat yourself to real seaside fish and chips.

4. Cambridge - Saturday 1st June
Booking period closes: Friday 24th May at 2pm

Tour description: Quite possibly the most beautiful city in all of England – if not all of Europe! (And the most romantic.) Nowhere else will you see such magnificent medieval architecture. The “backs”, the River Cam, and the picturesque colleges have inspired students for centuries, including Charles Darwin, John Milton and Prince Charles! Punt on the River Cam and gaze up at the heavenly ceiling of Kings College Chapel. Cambridge dazzles and amazes, its beauty leaving an indelible impression.

Ticket Prices
Fees for 2013 are as follows:
- 1 trip: £10
- 1 trip (non-booked, on the day price*): £15
*Subject to availability of remaining seats on the day. Seat is not guaranteed. Seats allocated on a first-come-first served basis. You would need to make yourself known to the International Office representative no later than 8.45 am.
Special offers:
- 2 trips*: £15(save £5)
- 3 trips*: £20(save £10)
- All 4 trips: £25(save £15)
*trips must be specified when booking and are non-transferable
How to book
Booking Conditions:
- Tickets are available to book from Monday 4th February
- Tickets must be purchased in advance before the booking period closes (this is 1 week before the departure date unless stated otherwise - see tour description)
- Extension of the booking period is at the discretion of the trip organisers.
- Tickets are only available from UEL International Office, WB2.12 within office hours (9.30am to 4.pm)
- We regret that we are unable to take bookings at Stratford Campus or by telephone (as bookings can only be made with cash payment) although we are happy to accept bookings made by one person on behalf of a group
- UEL trips are subsidised and therefore only available to UEL students (UEL ID will be required on boarding)
- Please note, places are restricted as we run a limited number of coaches per event.
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable (to another student) / non-exchangeable (to another trip) and (all Terms and conditions apply).
The actual 'at cost' price based on a full coach is on average £26 or more per person per trip, so you should expect to pay around £35 or more for a similar trip with a private travel company).
Special requirements / wheelchair access
Please let us know if you have any special requirements before you sign-up for the trip. You can call David on 0208 223 4167 to discuss or email international@uel.ac.uk
Although we sometimes extend the sale of tickets into the final week before the trip, students with special / wheelchair access requirements are required to ensure that they book a ticket within the published booking period. The reason for this is that, for example, we need to give at least 1 week's notice to order a coach with wheelchair access.
Please note that wheelchair access coaches take only 1 wheelchair, where the passenger would be safely strapped while remaining in their chair. This service is only available for one seated wheelchair user, although they can take more wheelchairs, but only on the provison that the wheelchairs are foldable and stowed. In this case wheelchair users would have to use the coach seats. Coach driver’s cannot move or assist in the movement of passengers, so where required a carer would have to be on board.
Some trips include visits where access can also be limited. We will try and give as much information in the tour descriptions.
