We are pleased to offer a generous range of funding options for international students starting courses in September 2013.
Note that international students are eligible for a 10% early payment discount where applicable - we encourage all students to take advantage of this considerable saving.

International Scholarships

Conflict Zone Scholarships
Students from conflict zones (as defined by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office) are encouraged to apply for our International Scholarships. Six of these scholarships have been ringfenced for such students
International Development Scholarship in association with International Students House
A combined tuition fee, residential and maintenance scholarship offered to an international student from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi or Somalia who intends to make a positive contribution to the development of their home country as result of completing the MSc NGO and Development Management Programme, who would otherwise be unable to pursue the Programme for financial reasons.

Sports Scholarships
UEL Sports offer scholarships to outstanding athletes who plan to study with us from 2013. Applications for Sports Scholarships are open to candidates competing in our focus sports, Basketbal and Rowing. The scholarships, which will cover full tuition fees, are open to individuals from any country outside the EU and both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to apply. Applicants should apply for a place on their course before they apply for a scholarship.

Science Without Borders Scheme for Brazilian students
UEL has been selected to participate in this scheme, enabling students from Brazil to study part of their undergraduate degree or PhD programme at UEL, fully funded by the Brazilian government. For more information please click here.
Early Payment Discount
We offer discounts of up to 10% to students who pay their fees in full as cleared funds before the dates listed below. We encourage all students to take advantage of this offer as it is a considerable saving.

International Bursaries

| International Undergraduate Bursary |
All International students starting their bachelor’s degree at UEL in 2013/14 are eligible to receive one free core textbook per module of study. |
| International Postgraduate Bursary |
International students starting a one-year taught postgraduate degree at UEL in 2013/14 are awarded credit up to £60 per semester on a UEL bursary card. This can be put towards the purchase of books and a range of other educational resources such as IT equipment and stationery. |
Alumni Scholarships
Students enrolling on a full-time Masters degree, Professional Doctorate degree or Postgraduate Research programme will be eligible for a 15% per annum Alumni scholarship. This scholarship is also available to students who have gained a UEL award through one of our partner institutions.

Students who are awarded an International Scholarship may also be entitled to the early payment discount and the Alumni Scholarship if they meet the individual requirements for them. If a student is awarded more than one scholarship or discount, they are applied in the following order:
1. International or Sports Scholarship
2. Alumni scholarship
3. Early Payment Discount
The awarding of any scholarship or discount must be in line with the University's Scholarship Terms and Conditions as well as it's Fees Policy.
